New to the world of set design? Experienced, but interested in new approaches for conceptualizing and executing your work? Join multi-disciplinary designer and educator, Ksenia Broda-Milian at Orpheus Musical Theatre for a workshop to explore all things set design, including:
  • sources of inspiration and jumping-off points for developing show concepts;
  • some tools for a smooth(er) design workflow;
  • integrating the director's vision and thinking about other design disciplines in your process to build a thoughtful, cohesive world; and,
  • tips and tricks about materials and execution.
Throughout, we'll shake off some of those pandemic cobwebs and stretch our design brains by generating ideas for a theoretical design for A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. It will be helpful for you to have read the script and done a little thinking about the characters, settings, and themes in the show - but no need to go any further into your process! We'll discuss and imagine together.

Do I have to be a Set Designer for this workshop? No! This workshop is beneficial for Designers of all kinds, Stage Managers, and Directors, as it will discuss working with a vision and creating a cohesive show across departments.
