About the Show

Stop the presses! Based on a true story, Disney’s Newsies is an exhilarating underdog tale with a big heart and a resilient spirit. It’s 1899 New York City, and Jack Kelly, a charismatic young newsie, has big dreams away from the big city. But when the giants of publishing raise distribution prices at the expense of the young newspaper sellers, Jack rallies youth from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what’s right!

Based on the 1992 film, Newsies features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Packed with classic songs and exuberant dance numbers, this high-energy, family-friendly musical inspires all of us to seize the day!

COVID-19 Policies & Procedures

All who wish to audition for and volunteer with an Orpheus production must provide proof of vaccination to participate. Your second dose must have been administered 14 days or more prior to the date of your audition or your first arrival at Orpheus. You must book an audition appointment. No walk ups are permitted.

Proof of Vaccination may be provided in advance, but is not required. If you do not have your proof of vaccination upon arrival for your audition, you will not be permitted to audition.
