About the Course:

Technique & Performance is designed for students ready to push their dance technique, versatility, and performance skills to the next level. This challenging and fast-paced class goes beyond foundational movement to explore the art of storytelling through choreography, preparing dancers for auditions, productions, and the demands of the musical theatre stage.

Each session blends technical training with expressive performance work, helping dancers refine precision, expand their stylistic range, and build the stamina required for sustained performance. Students will experiment with a variety of iconic Broadway styles, from the classic influences of de Mille, Robbins, and Fosse to the dynamic choreography of contemporary musicals, and learn how to infuse intention, character, and emotion into every phrase of movement.

Throughout the eight-week course, dancers will strengthen their choreography pick-up speed, tackle audition-style combinations, and work collaboratively on partnering, group transitions, and advanced formations. The semester culminates in an Open House performance for invited guests, highlighting their growth as expressive, confident, and versatile performers.

By the end of the program, students will leave with sharpened technique, improved performance readiness, and the confidence to command the stage in any Broadway-style setting.
